with The Wailin Jennys

After being blessed this year with the opportunity to hear & become better acquainted with The Wailin Jennys appearing at my very own annual Live Oak Music Festival (Cara, please do come & perform one of these years, maybe next?), I bought “40 Days” online when I got home.  It arrived this last Friday, and I’m MESMERIZED.  I noticed that I was absolutely gripped by two of the songs – “Untitled” and “Come All Ye Sailors” – and saw that they were written by YOU!  Wow – I’m blown away by them both!  The driving intensity and no-nonsense lyric message in “Untitled” gave me a well-needed and very healing kick in the butt.  And “Come All Ye Sailors” – for me this is an absolutely spiritual song, like a Love Song from The Creator, and the syncopated scat singing chorus is addictive!! “Lah-tah-Lah-tah-Lah-tah-Lah-tah-Lah-tah-Lah-tay-daii.”  Even though it seems you rarely if ever come to The States, I hope some day I have the opportunity to sing harmony with you.  You are Gifted, Lady!  ~ Susan Rorke, Picky Closet Musician & Harmonist,  Reseda, CA
